Description
12. Prior to commencement of development the applicant shall submit the following information to the Planning Authority for their written agreement: a) A full set of drawings at 1:20 for each of the new timber proposed window types is to be submitted to the local authority describing the window replacement in detail. All proposed replacements must be historically correct timber sash windows, which are accurately based on surviving originals. The use of standard double glazed units is not permitted as they are considered too bulky for historic windows. The installation of slim profiled double glazing may be considered where well detailed; 1:5 details of the window frames/glazing bars are to be provided demonstrating the proposed glazing can be provided within correctly dimensioned joinery elements. The new frames should have a traditional putty finish to the exterior. Details of the proposed new glazing should also be submitted. Reason: To ensure that the integrity of this protected structure is maintained and that the proposed repair works are carried out in accordance with best conservation practice with no unauthorised or unnecessary damage or loss of historic building fabric.
