4. The applicant shall comply with the following Conservation Section requirements: In advance of the works commencing, the applicant shall submit the following information for the written approval of the Planning Authority: • Full details on the proposed structural supports indicated on Drawing No. 193RRU-P12A, outlining the impact on the structure. • Confirmation of the extent of existing connectivity between the attic of the main building and that of the rear return and any proposed alterations to the connectivity between these spaces. • 1:50 drawings of the attic space and first floor landing below showing any potential impact of the staircase on the roof structure and the positioning of the rooflights in relation to roof joists, detailing the impact of the proposed rooflights on the structure. It is suggested that the applicant consider reducing the number of rooflights to minimise the impact on the historic roof. • Full details of the proposed rooflights including material and colour. The proposed rooflights should be of a traditional style in keeping with the character of the protected structure. • Methodology for the installation of the rooflights, flashing of same and repair of the roof including any new slate required following installation. The submitted documentation should also include details, including photographs, of the first floor landing and the impacted ceiling. • Details on the existing rooflight to the return, justification for its replacement if historic and full details on the proposed replacement rooflight are to be provided. Reason: To protect the character and integrity of the protected structure.
