Description
T1 - Holm oak. Remove tree and stump and plant replacementReason - the tree has a large cavity within the trunk located at the site of a previous large limb break-out. The trunk and one limb of the tree are colonised by a known decay forming fungus Ganoderma applanatum. The lower part of the trunk sounds as decayed and hollow when tapped with a mallet. Inevitably the structural condition of the tree will become progressively worse. The owner has sought professional arboricultural advice and the preferred management option is to remove the tree and and to plant a replacement.
