Description

Pre application advice to undertake remedial works to improve structural stability and lateral restraint of the southeast gable end which is bulging outwards at first floor level and has significant external and internal cracking. Proposed works include strengthening existing timber joist with the introduction of steel angles,and threaded rods to tie the new structure to the existing walls and provide lateral restraint. Previous historical repairs, with lower intervention have failed to provide a long term solution and we believe the above proposed solution is the most sensitive and practical approach to secure the future structural stability of the gable end
