Description

Replace all poles between 45KJ46 and 45KJCA4 as per the overhead line survey. Pole construction to remain `light construction' with 25mm hard drawn copper conductor strung along the poles. The line will be 3 wire making the network 3 phase compatible. The tallest pole within this section of network is currently a 12.5 mtr pole and the tallest pole along the line when the poles are replaced will be 13 mtr so the line profile once the works is complete shall be very similar to the existing profile albeit with an extra wire. All of the old apparatus will be fully dismantle and removed from site by either NGED or our contractors and we have full waste carrying license for these works. The ground will be reinstated on a like for like basis and we will limit the vehicles and plant on site to avoid unnecessary land damage. All access and egress routes will be along pre-existing tracks, lanes and roads or across agricultural land agreed in advance with the land owners. Poles 45KJC6 and 45KJC7 will be removed and the associated overhead lines spans between 45KJC5 and 45KJC7 will be removed as this section of line will be replaced with a new underground cable. The new cable route shown coloured green on the attached plan. The trench depth will be approximately 1mtr deep and 3-400mm wide the top soil will be segregated from the deeper soil layers and reinstated in a good manner with any excess soil removed from site. If required the area will be re-seeded on completion of works and left to naturally heal. Pole 45KJCA5 will be dismantled and the pole mounted transformer will be moved back to pole 45KJCA4 where new earth wires and underground cables (trench depth max 600mm) will be installed to maintain the existing low voltage network providing supplies at Morden Mill. Pole 45KJCA5 is currently situated within an ASNW (Cotehele Wood) and the new scheme will mean that this pole can be removed from the woodland.
