Description

We wish to reduce the canopy of the ornamental cherry indicated on the attached plan by 2 metres as recommended by our tree surgeon.The tree divides into 3 trunks about 1 metre above the ground and water settles in the centre and we are concerned that this will cause the tree to split. It is on our boundary right next to our neighbour's fence and adjacent to the summerhouse and a BT phone line also goes through the canopy. If the tree was to split all of these would be affected.The recommendation is to take some weight out of the tree to prevent this happening.The tree is only visible from neighbours' gardens and is not part of the tree backdrop as seen from the road and country park.We have consulted our neighbour at no 24 whose hedge would be affected and they would also like the work to be carried out.
