Application Details
Description

[1] Lime – Rear boundary of the property Proposal: Reduce regrowth height by up to 4 metres back to previous reduction points and reduce lateral spread up to 1.5 metres. Remove major deadwood and clear hanging or damaged branches. Reason: The tree has produced vigorous regrowth following previous management works, resulting in increased crown size along the rear boundary. The proposed pruning is intended to manage regrowth back to previous levels, maintain the tree at an appropriate size for its location, and remove deadwood and hanging branches in the interests of good arboricultural management. The tree forms part of a row of trees along the rear of neighbouring properties, within which recent tree failures have occurred in an adjacent garden, leaving this specimen now as the end tree in the group. The proposed works are therefore also intended to manage crown size in light of the changed surrounding context, while retaining the tree in a sustainable and appropriate long-term form. The extent of reduction has been specified to ensure the works remain proportionate and in accordance with good arboricultural practice.
