Description

Listed building consent for the installation of a new biomass heating system to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions across the National Trusts Quarry Bank Mill site. The proposed works include the construction of a new energy centre to accommodate biomass boilers, a wood fuel store, and associated plant and equipment. Installation of underground district heating pipework, linking the biomass plant to existing buildings, including the Mill, Administration Block, and Quarry Bank House. An internal upgrade of the mill's heating system, involving the replacement of existing steam-powered heat emitters with modern equivalents compatible with the new biomass system. Installation of an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) to serve Mill Cottage, providing space heating and hot water, and replacement of radiators throughout.
