Description

Hybrid Planning application comprising: (1) Full Planning Application incorporating: i) removal of existing runways; ii) construction of a single new runway and associated taxiways; and iii) construction of a covered viewing area for the refurbished and enhanced airfield café; (2) Outline Planning Application (all matters reserved) for: (a) the remainder of the airfield-related development incorporating: i) up to 3,000 sq.m of new aircraft hangarage; ii) up to 1,000 sq.m of new tenant modular buildings; iii) up to 1.67 ha of hardstanding of grasscrete or similar aircraft parking; iv) up to 3.43 ha of grass aircraft parking; v) enhanced airfield drainage; vi) installation of roof-mounted photovoltaics on existing airfield buildings; vii) installation of electric charging infrastructure and charging unit(s) to provide aircraft charging; viii) removal and replacement of two existing single storey modular buildings (581 sq.m); and ix) associated works; (b) for the creation of up to 2,300 sq.m of research and development flight industrial floorspace (Use Class E(g) (ii f iii)) and associated works (access, earthworks, strategic landscaping and other infrastructure); (c) for a phased employment development of up to 165,000 sq.m of general industrial (Use Class B2), storage or distribution (Use Class B8), and light industrial (Use Class E(g)(iii)) floors pace and ancillary office accommodation, and associated works (access, drainage, earthworks, strategic landscaping and other infrastructure).
