T5001 - Veteran oak tree immediately adjacent Estate gate lodge, leans towards residence and public road. Recent decay detection identifies significant area of compromised material around lower stem and buttress routes. Recommended work: Remove all deadwood. Crown reduce 20%. (Reduce re growth on the western side of the canopy by around 1.5m - 2m to remove some end weight retaining the shape and habit of the species.) T885 - Mature Horse chestnut at old park entrance - leans out over Islip Road. Kretzschmaria deusta fungal fruiting bodies identified around lower stem, recent decay detection indicates lower stem is compromised. Recommended work: Fell to ground level. (Note: this tree was previously planned for reduction but we already had concerns about the overall stability and given the location concluded it needs to be removed.
