Description

Replacement of existing flat roof and french doors to rear of property at ground floor with new thermally efficient materials and enlarged opening. Rear window to first floor bedroom to be replaced with glazed doors to allow access onto flat roof terrace. New external stairs (centrally positioned away from neighbours) to provide access from the roof terrace down to the rear garden. Lightweight metal railings are proposed to the north and east sides of the roof terrace and a solid edge will form the boundary with the adjoining neighbour to the south for privacy. Solar panels are proposed between the occupied area of roof terrace and the neighbours to the north acting as a buffer for privacy. Existing rooflight on rear side of main roof to be replaced with two new and an additional fixed pane rooflight is proposed above the existing stairwell to improve headroom on entry and exit to the attic space.
