Description

The works involve remedial tree safety management along the boundary of Coed Ty Llwyd, adjacent to the Lisvane and Llanishen Reservoir visitor car park and paths. The main interventions are: Pollarding of mature ash trees showing varying stages of ash dieback (Class 1-4), to create habitat poles and reduce the risk of branch or stem failure. Felling of selected ash or alder stems where pollarding is not viable due to advanced decline or safety concerns. Deadwood removal (>40mm diameter) from several ash and elm trees overhanging the car park and paths. Ivy severance on alders to facilitate further inspection and reduce wind-loading risk. The works prioritise safety while retaining standing deadwood where possible for biodiversity. approx 17 trees need maintenance.
