Description

G27 - Mixed species of Sycamore Common beech, Common holly, White poplar, Pedunculate oak, Common yew, Western red cedar. 1 x Sycamore in the group to Dismantle to ground level.Non native Sycamore. 15m in height with estimated DBH between 600mm-650mm.(DBh estimated due to dense ground vegetation at time of survey).Crown spread of 7m which is asymmetrical and has an altered aspect due to the historic failure of either a co-dominant stem, or major scaffold limb. The remaining canopy is partially suppressed by 2x neighbouring Lawsonia.At Approximately 7m on the northeastern quadrant of the main stem there is a large branch ?rip? wound which is only partially occluded and has exposed heartwood.Decay levels cannot be assessed from ground level, but the presence of decay fungus at this point is indicative of wood fibre degradation. This will potentially leave the main stem susceptible to further failure in high wind events.
