Description

T4: Sycamore - Fell(Located by No 58-60 - Height 17m (approx) DBH 64cm. Age Mature. Tree is approx 1.2m from School property and 1.7mfrom Peabody property. One of a group alongside access footpath to the estate and next to a school playground. From a visual groundinspection there were no fungal fruiting bodies present. Historical wound on North Face at 1.3m to 2.1m. Cavity at Basel area 11cm wide, 10cm high, 35cm deep. West face the crown appears slightly sparse and showing signs of die back in upper crown. From inspection it would appear that ground levels have changed and the lower stem of the tree is covered in soil/bark, also the footpath has been laid touching the tree. I believe that both of these issues could contribute to the signs of die back in the upper crown. Flaking bark at Basel area, signs of boring insects. Historical wound from 60cm to 1.7m - Target area around tree is of high risk.)
