Description

This application seeks permission for the installation of a temporary lights trail at the Wimpole Estate, comparable to the trails previously run in 2022 and 2021. The illuminated trail will follow existing paths used by the public during normal operating hours, and will have no structural impact to the listed buildings or scheduled monument at the Estate. All infrastructure will be as unobtrusive as possible, and is limited to cabling along the ground, trussing, catenary poles, and the location of generators within secure, well-screened compounds. Up to six additional catering concessions will be located at three points along the trail route, and up to three fairground rides will be placed in the area to the rear of the visitor welcome centre. Installation of the trail will begin in early November, and the trail will run for specific dates in November with breaks early mid-week followed by a concentrated period of consecutive dates in the lead up to Christmas, concluding before the New Year. The event will be dismantled in the first week of the New Year.
