Description

T1 - Large oak - This oak on the edge of woodland has formed a very large open crown. In the last 8-10 years there have been 3 or 4 failures of very large limbs (the last 2 in June 2023 and January 2024). What remains of the crown now is very unbalanced to the west and north west and more limbs are likely to fail in the near future. The proposal is to pollard the main stem to a height of 7-8m and reduce the lower laterals to a length of 3-4m from the stem to reduce leaverage and hopefully stimulate new growth.
