Description

Add 2no. awnings to the ground floor commercial premises. One side of the building is Listed, the other, contemporary. The proposed awning for the Listed property is to be housed in the existing original timber frame box which is sited above the cornice and pelmet detail. The other awning, located in the contemporary side of the property, will be surface mounted on the pelmet which forms part of the decorative shop frontage. The proposal is based on historical photographs that show the type and scale of the awnings that would have adorned the properties circa 1880's. In both cases, the installation is not structural, and will have no physical impact on the fabric or structure of the Listed property.
