Proposed Tree WorksNorwegian Maple: The primary objective is a lateral reduction of up to 1.7m on the western aspect, which then might necessitate a lateral reduction of up to 500mm on the northern and southern aspects to rectify the tree?s current spread imbalance and to reduce shading, allowing more natural light. No height reduction is proposed.The tree currently has a lateral spread of 3.7m to the west, compared to 1.5 m to the east. The spread to the west is 300mm off the property face. The proposal is to prune the significantly heavier western side by removing end weight and shortening longer lateral branches to suitable growth points, to balance the crown.All pruning works to be carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 to ensure a balanced and natural crown form typical of the species, with reductions made to suitable growth points.
