G1: Mixed species group of trees located along Stringer Way:Proposed Works:Raise the canopy to a height of approximately 5m over the carriageway and 3-4m over the footpath across the group of trees to increase clearance for vehicles and foot traffic. Lower branches will be removed or pruned back to suitable growth points as appropriate to improve clearance.Remove all deadwood overhanging the road and footpath.Prune back all branches encroaching towards the property at No. 2 Varndean Hall to provide a minimum clearance of approximately 3 metres from the building. This will include the removal of one limb from a cherry tree and the pruning of surrounding trees where required.Remove any smaller dead saplings within the tree line to ground level.Reason for Works:To increase clearance for vehicles and pedestrians using this main access road to the school, to prevent contact with buildings, and to remove deadwood for safety reasons.
