Description
Tree species - Lime Tilia sppRef no T2We wish to remove the tree as it is leaning significantly (20 degree to the left) despite regular approved maintenance and may fall on our shed. It also has lime aphids which every year secrete honeydew. This honeydew then develops sooty mould which covers most of the plants in the garden and inhibits their photosynthesis causing die off. The stickiness prevents using the garden for clothes drying in the summer. We would like to plant a smaller tree with an upright growth habit in its place, Sorbus aucuparia would be our preferred choice as its flowers will attract pollinators and the berries are a useful food for birds in Autumn. This tree is at the end of a long row of trees in the car park of Blenheim Court which ends behind our garden boundary. It is set about 1m forward of the line bringing it into our garden. Our house was built in 1997, well after these trees were planted. The removal of this tree would not be detrimental to the view of the tree line as the last tree in the row would then grow into that space but behind our boundary wall. The other tree noted on the TPO (T1) was removed in February 2014 during high winds when a tree surgeon identified that the trunk was decaying. BHCC (David Archer) was contacted at the time and advised us to email our actions in which we did (printed c0opy attached).
