Description

Removal of a Canary Island Date Palm in the back garden of 185 Preston Drove marked *A on the accompanying sketch. It is over 20 years old, has grown to 6-8 meters tall. The bulbous base has dislodged the internal garden edging, and is now pushing hard against the boundary wall with 183 Preston Drove. The tree surgeon has advised that if it is left in situ, it could ultimately reach 12-15 meters. It is already at risk of causing serious damage to the boundary wall with the neighbouring property at 183 Preston Drove, and in future will demolish a section of the boundary wall. We will replace the Date Palm with a Tree Fern (3-4 meters tall) in the same location, to match 2 other existing Tree Ferns (marked B on accompanying sketch).
