Application Details
Description
The large Sycamore in rear garden of property. Due to excessive shading and significant movement in the upper crown especially in high winds, the client would like a 4-5m reduction in height to retain the tree in a more suitable size for the garden and enter a 3 year pruning cycle . This is a 12-14m semi mature sycamore which has previously been pruned leading to a very tall and high crown area, beginning to appear top heavy and could be placing significant leverage due to the sail area in high winds., one smaller stem appears to have snapped out at some point. The proposed works would reduce each of the three remaining co-dominant stems by 4-5m to restrict the height of the tree and promote a lower more balanced crown. It appears to be in good general condition and vigor and this along with the species ready adaptation to such pruning suggests a positive outcome to the works to be more than likely.
