Application Details
Description
T1 - Deodar Cedar, Cedrus deaodara - Reduce lateral branches only; reduce the longest lateral branches on western side of tree, overhanging the garden on no. 9, Croft Road, by up to 2m; reduce the longest lateral branches on eastern side of tree, overhanging garden areas of no. 10, Croft road, by up to 1.5m; reduce branches on northern and southern side of tree by similar amounts, to ensure a suitable 'blending' between these 2 measurements, (therefore between 1.5m and 2m). Reduce the shorter lateral branches of the tree's crown to bring the entire crown into a uniform shape, thus creating a loosely conical shape to the entire tree's crownReducing the lateral branches in the manner described will allow the pruned branches to match an blend into those branches at the top of the tree. The tree's top has at some point historically either lost its top through natural processes or been 'topped' - it is noticeably different. The proposed works will therefore restore the tree's crown to a shape more typical for the species.
