Description

T1 - Oak, approx 15m in height with a crown radius of 10m almost exclusively to the south over the garden of the applicant. The tree shows evidence of a high pollard at around 9m in the past with a lateral branch becoming the leader. Remove the split branch and reduce crown radius by 2 to 3 m to lessen overhang and re-balance. T2 - Oak, approximately 18m in height, this tree has been pollarded or topped in the past at a higher level than T1 (aroun 12m) and shows further signs of pruning in the canopy with deadwood appearing at these sites. A split branch has fallen onto a lower branch of T1 which is also showing signs of an historic split and it is proposed to remove the damaged branches and reduce the crown radius to the south by 2 to 3 m to lessen the overhang into the applicants garden and re-balance the tree to an extent.
