Load-reduce the crown of the extended limb to the north which has a tight V shaped union (see annotated photograph below) and install a precautionary static cable as a limb catcher on this northern limb. Estimated crown radius reduction by 3 to 4m. Monitor for Dutch Elm disease in the summer months. Crown radius measurements before pruning are north = 15m, south = 8m, west = 11m & east = 13m. 53- English Elm Fell to near ground level. 54- English Elm Fell to near ground level. 55 Ash-Tip-reduce the crown to lessen the loading on stem defects. Reduce the height from 20.5m to 18m. Reduce the long-extended limb to the northeast by approximately 4.5m to alternative growth point. Tip reduce the sail of the remaining crown by around 1.5m. Present radius is around 5m. 56 - English Elm Fell to near ground level. 59 Common Oak Carefully sever the ivy without damaging the tree's bark.
