Description
T1 - Quercus robur - Oak Reduce canopy by up to 2m radially from 7.5m to 5.5m all round. Reduce height from 16m by up to 3m to 13m. Mulch with locally sourced hardwood chip do a depth of 80mm, avoiding mounding or volcano mulching. Mulch to a radius of 5m from stem within grassed area. Maintain mulch over following two years prior to re-inspection. Justification: Proven basal decay - see attached Picus. Visible reduction in vitality. Pseudoinonotus dryadeus ffb. present. The aim of the work is to promote natural retrenchment and the reduction will be aimed at removing dead/dysfunctional material and retaining as much live growth as possible. QTRA given by Treewise Consultants Ltd. Risk of Harm (RoH) 1/3000 on 12/11/2021. QTRA recalculated with Picus results in hand by Dan Curtis on 22/02/2023 - RoH 1/1,000,000. The tree is not deemed to present a risk to the road or footpath, but should be managed as an asset and retention encouraged. Mulch is intended to reduce compaction and encourage invertebrate activity in the immediate rooting area. A further wildflower area is planned by the grounds maintenance team to reduce grass cutting and further compaction of the root area.
