Due to its proximity and height, the tree poses an increasing risk to the property in high winds. Conifers of this species and size are not well-suited to small residential plots, as their growth habit and shallow rooting make them difficult to manage safely in confined spaces. Reduction of this species is not advisable, as heavy pruning tends to result in poor regrowth, unsightly form, and long-term decline. Conifers do not respond well to crown reduction or shaping, and such works would likely disfigure the tree rather than improve its safety or appearance.
