Description
T1 - Willow Tree - Cut the lateral branches back by making the cuts as shown on the photos provided - The tree has approx 50 degree angle towards the applicants property and is becoming very overwhelming for the properties; they are also unable to utilise the already small garden areas. Willow trees are renowned for being resilient to pruning, even harsh pollarding. The tree is very unbalanced due to the removal of trees behind it in the past and therefore it has only had one way to grow - towards the row of houses on Garden Terrace. The proposed work will give the tree a more balanced crown and, in turn, more longegivity. Should the tree continue to grow in its' current manner, as fast as willow trees do, it will inevitably have branches failing due to the weight of them, it is also a cause for concern that, should the tree fail, it would only go over towards Garden Terrace due to the disproportionate angle of it. It was also noted that there have been cuts made on the tree to allow the installation of BT wires which exceed 75mm and the tree is showing signs of these wounds healing well, which gives us reason to believe that, although some of the proposed cuts (approx 2-3) also exceed the 75mm, there would be no reason that the tree wouldn't heal from these wounds and allow the regrowth to be more contained. The applicant is a very keen gardener and likes to encourage wildlife and, on balance, given the species of the tree and the proposed work, in our opinion will achieve the applicants wishes and also encourage the tree to flourish.**The tree is best viewed from Heaton Road ***** The applicant requests to be notified when the tree officer is intending to visit site so she can discuss this personally ***
