RETROSPECTIVE ApplicationT1 Oak - Twin stem failed tree. One of the stems uprooted in very mild weather due to extensive root rot on the night of 25/06/23. This effectively removed all of the base anchoring the remaining standing stem on the windward side, leaving it entirely loaded and leaning at 45?> directly towards the house, well within the trees drop zone. There was no option to prop it due to the area beneath being tarmac and part of the car park / turning area. Nor was there a substantial tree to strap and secure it to.Remaining stem removed under the rule of exception for safety 27/06/23.Suspected underground water course in the same line running north to south which is the downward gradient from Ilkley Moors to the River. Exact same circumstance occurred February 2022 with a failed Oak tree, thoroughly rotted up through the base, which landed in the garage at the neighbouring property on Kings Road, under app 22/00910/CPN.
