Description

Horse Chestnut (C3A.50) located East of the Athletics sheds within the Parkland by Southmeads requires reducing the central leader of the tree with historic damage to the stem on the East side at approximately 5 metres and 10 metres to 6 metres. Photo 1,2 and 3 show stem damage with a decaying hollow centre. the risk is increased due to the location of the tree with the Athletics sheds and Parkland footpath in close proximity. Failure of this central leader is possible due to the reduced amount of supporting wood on the circumference of the stem in the event of freak weather conditions.
