Description

T1-Scots Pine Fell - The tree is located within a group of Scots Pine on the Southern aspect of the property, offering some but largely minimal amenity value to the local treescape which is largely covered by the evergreen species along the western boundary of the property. From reading historic applications it is clear that a Giant Sequoia was a planting option which was subsequently planted within very close proximity of T1 and as such is now forming an acute basal bend at circa 2m from ground level. This tree (Giant Sequoia) is clearly going to be a feature tree for the property as well as the local area once fully matured and all should be done to preserve its structural and physiological soundness. By the removal of T1 the physiological and structual integrity of the Giant Sequoia is going to improve greatly as a result and minimal affect to the local treescape will take place. The adjacent tree to T1 is beggining to show signs of phototropic growth, and althought trees are self optimising structures this trees physiological and structural integrity will be affected unnecessarily as a result of T1's retention. Fell as close to ground level as practically possilbe. T2-False Acacia Fell - The tree shows historical evidence of a twin stem having been removed at circa 1m from ground level with associated basal decal visibal on and within the vesinity. The tree is a poor specimen tree with limited longevity within its current environment. Its removal will not affect the local treescape and replacement planting will future proof the local tree stock. Fell as close to ground level as practically possible. Replant with x1 Ilex aquifolium and 1x Sorbus aucuparia 1.5-2m nursery grown stock within 5m of T2.
