Description

G1 group of x 7 Beech and 1 Sycamore forming outer screen of stand of 18 trees - Tip reduce outer crown width only by between 2 and 4 m to give a uniform 4m crown radius as the trees crown spread now extends extensively across the lawn towards the house shading the area. These trees were subject to a tornado 10 or so years ago and had extensive remedial work from which 10 years up to 2m or so of growth now sits on those previous pruned and potentially weakened points. Large beech on corner has displayed many ganoderma fungi up the trunk for some years now and honey fungus Is endemic in the ground. So this partial crown reduction which leaves the height and natural aesthetic of the group intact will to some extent reduce the weight stress on weakened pruning points and the stressed root system
