Non material amendment to planning permission 19/00855/FUL dated 05/02/2021 as amended by non-material amendment applications 22//00292/NONMAT and 22/01536/NONMAT. Amendments sought: Amendment to description of development to remove mention of unit number and amount of commercial floorspace; new internal arrangement to all cores and access corridors to incorporate two staircases providing two means of escape; retention of the approved 196 units with only a loss of 8 habitable rooms as a result of connecting the two cores at lower levels to provide two means of escape; minor increase in building size to the east of the tallest block by 1.5m to accommodate the additional staircase, with a corresponding minor reduction in the size of the rear courtyard; rearrangement of the ground floor to provide protected final escape to all cores resulting in a loss of 24 sqm of commercial floorspace; reduction of the ground floor commercial unit on the corner of London Road and North Street due to underground services resulting in a further loss of 90 sqm of commercial area and a 8 sqm of bike storage (no change to the number of bike parking spaces); increased footpath width as a result of the cut back providing a better street environment at the base of the scheme; reduction in size of the balconies to the corner of London Road and North street due to maximum structural cantilever (reduced balconies will still be in excess of the required standards for the units they serve).
