Description
Context: As part of planning permission 21/00963/APP, a condition was made that I would need to enhance the macrophyte and aquatic vegetation component of my pond to improve the environment for GCN. Cutting back and maintaining overshading vegetation was the suggested course of action to be followed.1. Apple tree: crown thinning of 25-30% to allow more light and improve health of tree (as branches are getting tangled and pushing against each other), and ongoing crown management once new growth starts, to stop the crown from increasing in spread and from creating more shade on the pond. Willow tree: the current spread of the tree is 8m in one direction and 4m on the cross line (think of an oval shape). I would want to reduce the crown on the longer edge (which includes one lone branch that already almost 2. Removal of horse chestnut tree. This tree was a very small when I moved into the property 8 years ago, but has grown at a very fast rate since then. It now blocks out the majority of light to the pond from that direction, and furthermore is out of line with the other trees in that area - it is neither pond-side (willow), ornamental/fruit bearing (apple) or boundary marking (majority of poplars). I would prefer not to replace it for the above reasons, but if it is necessary, then something with a limited height would be preferred, in the hope that some light may still reach the pond.3. Removal of misc/poplar tree as indicated in attachment no.3. This was a sapling that was missed at some point and has now grown above the exemption criteria, meaning I still need permission to remove it. I think it is a poplar that has self seeded, but cannot recall for sure, so have marked it as 'misc' on the image. As with 2 above, it is completely out of line with the other tress in the area, and is right in the middle of existing shubbery that forms the border of that section of lawn. Please note, the trees covered by this TPO were not allocated individual numbers.
