Application Details
Description
There are several Leylandii conifer trees in Tomkins Arboretum in Winslow, which are very close to our boundary and are now overhanging our property. Others are severely affecting and disturbing the growth and available light of our own trees. See Cluster 1 with Trees 1 to 3 marked (to the North in the Web map), and Cluster 2 (Trees 1 to 5 marked), in the photographs and the Web map attached. They were planted very close together and as a result have stunted the growth of both themselves (most have just growth on one side), and other adjacent mature trees. Most of these conifers appear to be dead or dying, constantly dropping cones and cone debris, covered with ivy, and with some beginning to lean at an ever increasing angle towards our property, which if they did fall, could result in serious and expensive damage to our house and surroundings.Removing the overhanging branches would in most cases reduce the trees to a single bare trunk (due to most of them having growth on just one side), which would be visually unacceptable. The request is to fell these trees, which would give the adjacent, more significant trees in the area, more room to fully establish and mature and at the same time, prevent future damage to our house and surroundings.
