Description

We have a small garden and there is a large English Walnut tree (T1) in the corner of our garden. We wish to have the tree removed and replaced with an Amelanchier tree, which is more size-appropriate. We have consulted a tree surgeon who made this recommendation rather than further pruning the tree, given the tree was pruned significantly by the previous house owners but the tree surgeon said it was done poorly and has led to rapid proliferation of the tree. If we were to have it pruned again it would likely lead to further significant proliferation and would require substantial pruning at least every 2 years. The tree surgeon also reiterated that the size of the tree is not appropriate for the position of the tree - it is close to our house and our neighbour's house, and neither houses have large gardens. We have checked that the neighbours would be happy with the tree being replaced and they are very happy with this plan as it blocks a lot of light. The full works would be carried out by a registered tree surgeon (Devey Tree Care).
