Description

Forestry Commission Application to Area of ASNW covered mostly by mixed broadleaves with dominant oak. In northern part covered by the FLA there is an oak stand with hornbeam in understorey. The part covered by oak stand was granted FL in 2014 (019/434/13-14 allowing coppicing of the area) but was not executed. The area normally would require only thinning of oak, however, because stumps of many oaks have been damaged and timber deteriorating, it was estimated that on 30% of the area regeneration fell is necessary. The applicant is proposing to restock the area with natural regeneration. Felling licence consultation 019/1097/2024
