Description

Discharge of Condition 4 of approval reference LA08/2020/0631/F. The turbine hereby approved shall not become operational until a Bat Monitoring Programme (BMP) has been submitted to and approved in writing by the Planning Authority. The approved BMP shall be implemented in accordance with the approved details, unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Planning Authority. The BMP shall include the following: a) Details of the proposed monitoring of bat activity across the site post construction using appropriate methodology for a period of time to be agreed with the planning authority; b) Details of bat carcass searches at selected turbines using appropriate methodology for a period of time to be agreed with the planning authority; c) Details of the production of yearly monitoring reports to be submitted to the planning authority within 6 months of the end of each monitoring year; d) Provision for review of the monitoring programme, including timescales; e) Provision for any contingency measures which may be deemed necessary depending on the results of the monitoring and which shall be implemented if instructed by the Planning Authority. Reason: To monitor the impact of the proposal on bats.
