Description

During an on-site visit of two Tree Officers from Amber Valley Council during early spring 2025, the following advice of application for work required was given. The Cedar Tree ( T1 as shown in the arial photograph ) was considered to be old and the work required to keep it safe was described by the Tree Officers as "Managing the trees Demise". The tree is close to the boundary with the road, Church Lane, where cars are often parked by visitors to the church and village Hall. The tree also spans across vulnerable gravestones in the church yard. During periods of Heavy Rain and Snow which add weight to limbs and in Windy conditions, limbs that appear to have become brittle break off. Limbs of up to 300mm have recently broken and fallen. This application is made by the Safety Officer for the church based on concern about potential damage to parked cars and visitors to the church yard during these times. PROPOSED WORK OF 1 CEDAR TREE IN A CONSERVATION AREA The application as advised by the Tree Officers, is to allow trimming of limbs up to 3metres from the tip to reduce their weight and hence risk of breakage. The work will be carried out by competent contractors.
